#Can we just talk about how artistically beautiful this scene is because it’s one of Disney’s best. #It’s so dark and taboo in more ways than one and yet it’s so visually stunning. #Here’s this seemingly righteous man who tortures people and has them killed. #On top of that he covets a woman he has previously threatened and harassed. This woman’s ultimatum? Be with him or die engulfed in flames. #This ‘pious’ man is blaming everything on other people without admitting to his fault. #the choir behind him singing ‘mea culpa’ is the most wonderful part of it all. #The ‘spirits’ or his ‘conscience’ is exclaiming ‘MY FAULT.’ #because everything is Frollo’s fault and that haunts him #He refuses to own up to how terrible a person he is #and the part where he becomes engulfed in the flames is sort of characteristic of the whole ‘hell’ thing. #Just beautiful scene
